Gray scores 18 in Cornell’s 65-62 victory against Yale

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Isaiah Gray scored 18 points as Cornell beat Yale 65-62 on Friday night.

Gray also contributed five rebounds for the Big Red (20-4, 9-1 Ivy League). Nazir Williams scored 14 points while shooting 4 for 12 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 5 from the free throw line, and added eight rebounds. Chris Manon shot 4 of 9 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line to finish with 11 points.

August Mahoney led the Bulldogs (17-8, 8-2) in scoring, finishing with 16 points. Matt Knowling added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Yale. In addition, Bez Mbeng had 12 points, four assists and two steals.

Both teams next play Saturday. Cornell hosts Brown and Yale plays Columbia on the road.
